Dirt bike electric: the best models, real prices and what to check before you buy
By Kobolt Bikes · ·

A dirt bike electric model costs between about €4,000 and €12,500 in our range, and the right one depends on your weight, your licence and where you ride, not on the biggest kW number. This guide compares six bikes we stock, with prices from our catalogue and specifications from the manufacturers and dealers we cite, so you can pick one without guessing.

Quick picks: six electric dirt bikes side by side
If you only have a minute, start with the table below. Prices are our current catalogue prices in euro including delivery to Denmark; power and battery figures are the peak or rated values published by the maker or by a dealer, and where a figure is missing we left it out rather than guess. Click a model for the full product page.
| Model | Price | Motor (kW, as published) | Battery | Weight | Top speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sur-Ron Light Bee X | €4,048 | – | – | 45 kg | – |
| Talaria Sting MX4 | €4,784 | 8 | – | 66 kg | – |
| Segway Xaber 300 | €4,875 | 21 | 72 V / 44 Ah | 85 kg | 96 km/h |
| E Ride Pro SR | €5,059 | 25 | 72 V / 50 Ah | 83 kg | 112 km/h |
| Altis Sigma | €4,140 | 22.5 | 97.2 V / 35 Ah | – | – |
| Stark Varg EX | €12,420 | 60 | – | 120 kg | – |
Three quick rules of thumb come out of the table. First, price does not track power in a straight line: the Altis Sigma lists 22.5 kW peak for €4,140, while the Stark Varg EX at €12,420 is a different class of machine with 60 kW. Second, weight matters more than most buyers expect: a 45 kg Light Bee X flips around a tight trail far more easily than an 85 kg bike. Third, battery capacity (the kWh figure) decides how long you ride, while peak power decides how hard the bike pulls.
Dirt bike electric: what an electric offroad bike really is, and what it is not
An electric offroad bike looks like a small motocross bike but has a battery and an electric motor instead of a petrol engine. There is no clutch and no gearbox on most models: you twist the throttle and the motor delivers torque instantly. That makes them easier for beginners and very quiet, which opens up places where a petrol machine would draw complaints.
The word that causes most confusion is "street legal". Under EU Regulation (EU) No 168/2013 two-wheeled powered vehicles are grouped into L-categories, and a bike that is registered for the road has to be type-approved in one of them, for example L1e for light mopeds or L3e for motorcycles. An off-road-only model has no such approval. It can be a perfectly good trail bike, but you cannot simply register it for public roads in Denmark or Germany. If you want a bike for both roads and trails, look for a model sold with road approval, such as the Talaria Sting L1e, and check the certificate with the seller before paying.
Our category page for electric dirt bikes for sale shows every model with its price, and our country guides explain the licence classes per country. We keep road rules out of this article on purpose, because they change by country and by model; the guides carry the sources and the date we checked them.

Power, battery and weight: how to read the numbers
Spec sheets use three numbers that sound similar but mean different things. Peak power (kW) is what the motor can deliver for a few seconds, for example when you launch out of a corner. Rated or continuous power is what it holds without overheating, and it is the more honest guide to how the bike feels over a ride. The E Ride Pro SR, for instance, lists 25 kW peak and 10 kW rated, which is why it feels strong without being fragile.
Battery size is given in kilowatt-hours or as volts times amp-hours. Multiply 72 V by 40 Ah and you get 2,880 Wh, or about 2.9 kWh. A bigger pack gives more range, but it also adds weight, and a lighter bike is easier to handle when you get tired. Real range depends on rider weight, terrain, temperature and how often you open the throttle, so treat published range figures as best-case numbers and plan for less on steep, sandy or muddy ground.
Weight is the most useful number for a first bike. At 45 kg the Sur-Ron Light Bee X is the lightest in our table, the Talaria Sting MX4 is listed at 66 kg, the Segway Xaber 300 at 85 kg and the Stark Varg EX at 120 kg. If you are new to off-road riding, a lighter bike forgives mistakes; if you are heavier or ride fast on open tracks, the extra mass of a larger bike adds stability.
Which electric dirt bike for which rider
Beginner or lighter rider
The Sur-Ron Light Bee X is the usual starting point because it is light, simple and well supported by an owner community and aftermarket parts. If you are still choosing between brands, our Sur-Ron versus Talaria comparison sets the two side by side.
Trail rider who wants more power
The Talaria Sting MX4 (8 kW, 66 kg) steps up from the Light Bee X with a stronger motor and a more motocross-style stance. Read our Talaria Sting MX4 page for battery and suspension details before you decide.
Rider who wants a polished machine
The Segway Xaber 300 lists 21 kW peak, a 72 V / 44 Ah (3 kWh) battery, a claimed 100 km range and 96 km/h top speed at 85 kg. It is the heavier, more finished option, and the Segway Xaber 300 suits riders who value build quality over a light feel.
Rider who wants the most power per euro
The Altis Sigma (22.5 kW peak, 97.2 V / 35 Ah) and the E Ride Pro SR (25 kW peak) both put a lot of power on the table below €5,100. Compare them side by side on the product pages, and use our electric dirt bike comparison guide to see all brands in one table.
Competition and top-end performance
The Stark Varg EX is a different kind of bike: 60 kW, 120 kg and a price of €12,420. It is built for riders who already race or ride at a high level, and for them it replaces a petrol motocross bike. For everyone else it is more bike than needed.

What an electric dirt bike really costs
The sticker price is only part of the picture. Our prices include delivery to Denmark, and we ship from Germany with free EU land shipping on orders over €3,000. Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal, and the products carry a 2-year guarantee. The minimum order is €350, which matters mainly if you buy gear and spare parts along with the bike.
Budget separately for protective gear: a certified helmet, gloves, boots and a back protector are not optional on an electric dirt bike that reaches 80 to 100 km/h. Plan for a charger spare or a second battery if you want to ride all day, and for basic tools to check axles, spokes and brake pads. If you are comparing offers, look at the total cost including delivery, VAT, guarantee terms and spare parts availability, not just the headline number. When in doubt, ask us on the contact page and we will confirm the current price and stock.
Licence, insurance and where you may ride
Where and how you may ride depends on three things: the type approval of the bike, the licence class you hold, and local rules for off-road land. A bike with road approval needs registration and insurance; an off-road bike needs permission from the landowner and, in many places, is limited to private land or marked tracks. Always check with the national authority before you ride on a public road.
We publish a sourced guide for each country we sell into: Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Spain and Finland. Each one lists the licence classes with the minimum age, names the authority, and carries the date we last checked the source. The legal base for the vehicle classes is the EU regulation linked below.
Buying checklist and common mistakes
- Decide road or trail first. If you want to ride on public roads, buy only a model sold with L1e or L3e approval and ask for the certificate. Buying an off-road bike and hoping to register it later is the costliest mistake.
- Match weight to rider. A bike that is too heavy gets ridden less. Try to lift the front wheel of a bike you can handle.
- Check battery and charger. Ask for the pack size in Wh, the charger rating and the charging time, and what the guarantee covers for the battery.
- Look at parts and support. Brake pads, tyres, sprockets and chains wear out. Choose a brand with parts you can actually order.
- Budget for gear. Helmet, gloves, boots and protection come on top of the price.
- Beware of too-good prices. A brand-new Segway or Sur-Ron at a fraction of the market price is a warning sign. Buy from a seller with a company registration and a guarantee.
- Do not trust one spec sheet. Figures differ between regions and model years. Compare the maker's page and a dealer listing, as we do on our product pages.

Frequently asked questions
The Sur-Ron Light Bee X is the usual first choice. At 45 kg it is the lightest in our range, easy to handle and well supported by parts. If you are heavier or want more power, step up to the Talaria Sting MX4 or the Segway Xaber 300.
In our catalogue the six bikes compared here run from €4,048 (Sur-Ron Light Bee X) to €12,420 (Stark Varg EX), including delivery to Denmark. Gear, a second battery and spare parts are extra, so budget a few hundred euro on top of the bike.
Only models with type approval in an L-category, such as L1e or L3e, can be registered for public roads, and you need the matching licence and insurance. Off-road-only models cannot. Check our country guides and the national authority before you ride on a road.
It depends on pack size, rider weight, terrain and throttle use. The Segway Xaber 300 is listed with a claimed 100 km range, but off-road in soft ground you will see much less. Treat published range as a best case.
Yes. We ship from Germany with free delivery in Denmark and free EU land shipping on orders over €3,000. Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days, and the delivery time to your country depends on the address, so ask us for an estimate before you order.
